PHOTOS: Ribbon Cutting for New Learning Trail at Weyer Park

Just seven months after being approved, the United Way's Born Learning Trail had an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at Weyer Park.

Sussex businesses, residents and officials gathered at Thursday evening to celebrate the grand opening of the park's new , a place to take children for educational outdoor fun.

Representatives from United Way, the organization behind the iniative, and PowerSports Network, the local business funding the project, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the park. Village President Greg Goetz and Director Kathy Klager spoke at the gathering, expressing their excitement for Sussex's newest activity.

"I'm so pleased this is located right outside the library," Klager said. "The library is all about learning!"

The trail was to the Board in October, and installation was finished just seven months later. PowerSports signed on as the main sponsor, initiating further support from  of Sussex, Menards of Pewaukee, , Patriot Fence, , Sherwin Williams Paint, , and .
