PHOTO: Sussex Leos Donate to Make-A-Wish

The Leos Club pulls together a donation to the Deputy Sheriff's Association Make-A-Wish fundraiser for a local child with a bone marrow disease.

Every year the Waukesha Deputy Sheriff’s Association hosts a fundraiser to make a child's dream come true, and this year, the Sussex Leos are helping.

Sussex Leo President Amanda Phillips, along with other Leos, presented a $600 donation during to Officer Mark Nihoris and other members of the Waukesha Deputy Sheriff's Association for their Make-A-Wish event for a local child in need.

Bryce, the 4-year-old son of a Waukesha County deputy, has a bone marrow disease called Severe Aplastic Anemia. The Deputy Sheriff’s Association is hosting an event where half of the proceeds go to Bryce, and the half is donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Wisconsin.

On September 8, the group will host the third annual Waukesha Deputy Sheriff’s Association Show N’ Shine, a car, truck and bike show to benefit the foundation. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., residents can enjoy a huge array of events at while making a difference. The Sussex Leos just got a head start.
