Holiday Breakdown: Fourth of July Events & Activities

Sussex Events

The Village of Sussex is devoting morning, noon and night to Independence Day, with annual attractions like the fireworks show and new events like .

The has yet to lift their , meaning residents are strictly prohibited from lighting off their own fireworks. However, the fire chief hasn’t called off the annual fireworks show. Firefighters are planning to be at in case things get dangerous.

Kiddie Parade

  • 9:15 a.m. – Line up behind the  in parking lot.
  • 9:30 a.m. - Parade participants march west on Main Street to the . Upon arrival, children will enjoy ice cream.
  • 10 a.m. - Carnival style games and relays at the park.

Entertainment

  • 6 to 9 p.m. - Live entertainment by the Rabid Aardvarks at the Lion's Open Air Shelter. 
  • This is the first time Sussex has hired a band for the celebration, and they chose a highly acclaimed group. The were recently voted Wisconsin Area Music Industry’s , and they will even play on Sunday at .

Fireworks

  • 9:20 p.m. – The best seating is on the Village Park’s sledding hill. If the fireworks are canceled because of the dry weather, Patch will let you know.

You don’t feel like staying in Sussex on the Fourth of July? That’s no problem, because Patch has you covered.
