UPDATE: Three Hospitalized After T-Bone Collision

One person needed to be pulled from the car with help of 14 rescue personnel.

The responded to a car accident on Friday night at 8:17 p.m. where three people were sent to the Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

Mark Schlechta, a 30-year-old from the Town of Merton, blew a stoplight at the intersection of Highway 164 and Main Street, broadsiding a 37-year-old Hartland man. Schlechta was given citations for operating a vehicle with a revoked license and violating a red light signal.

According to the Wisconsin Court System, in the past Schlechta has also been found guilty of reckless driving, disorderly conduct, posession of THC, posession of a controlled substance and a second offense OWI.

Both drivers sustained only minor injuries in the crash. However, Schlechta’s passenger, a 49-year-old woman from Lisbon, was more seriously injured, pulled from the car and immediately transferred to the hospital. 

Both Schlechta and the other driver were treated and released on Friday at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, said Sandra Peterson, a representative from the hospital. Schlechta's passenger was also treated and released on Friday, but Peterson noted that the passenger may have been transferred to another hospital for further treatment based on her injuries.

Sussex responded with 14 rescue personnel, three pieces of equipment and received mutual aid from Lisbon and Merton Fire Departments of one ambulance each. Crew remained on the scene for one and a half hours. The accident remains under investigation.
