Police Still Searching for Sussex Armed Robbery Suspect

Waukesha County police say they're investigating active leads as to who held up the store last Thursday.

Police still haven't found the man responsible for robbing the last week, but say they are following up on active leads and could still use help from residents.

The gas station was robbed Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. by a middle-aged man after he pulled a sawed-off shotgun out of his coat, Fox6 reports. Police are asking the public to step foward with any details regarding the man after releasing photos from surveillance cameras.

The owners of the Quarry Mart spoke with Fox6 News last week, saying they were faced with something they thought would never happen. Their son was working at the time of the robbery and said he's "devastated" and "can't get over it, still."

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 5’10″ to 5’11″ tall, in his mid-40s with a weathered, acne-pocked face. He was wearing a denim coat, blue jeans, tan boots and Oakley style glasses. The suspect spoke without an accent.

Their son was working at the time of the robbery and said he's "devastated" and "can't get over it, still."

Owners also said there were two getaway drivers waiting outside for the man after the robbery, and they taunted workers as they drove away by rolling down their windows and shouting, "We got you" and "We got your money."
