Between a neighbor catching a mother choking her daughter and another drunken fight at Sussex Bowl, this is a list of last week's most interesting police reports in Sussex.

Neighbor Catches Mother Choking Daughter

Monday, June 18 at 3:54 p.m.
Police were called to a home on the W246N6600 block of Pewaukee Road Monday after a neighbor noticed a mother and daughter in a physical fight on their doorstep. The 14-year-old daughter allegedly got in a fight with her mother over finances and threw a water bottle at her mother’s head. When the daughter stormed out, the mother caught her and began choking her near the front door. That’s when the neighbor called police. No charges were filed, and the daughter was directed into her father’s custody. 

Always Balance Your Checkbooks

Monday, June 18 at 4:06 p.m.
A homeowner living on the W233N5800 block of Aster Drive noticed something was missing Monday: three blank checkbooks. After further inspection, the man also noticed multiple checks had already been fraudulently cashed. The 56-year-old man immediately called police, and the crime is still under investigation. The man has since closed his checking account.

Mean Boys!

Tuesday, June 19 at 6:41 p.m.
A group of 12-and-13-year-old boys were reprimanded on Tuesday after throwing rocks at a 14-year-old Sussex girl, hitting her in the head. The group was at around 6:30 p.m. when a large rock struck the girl, cutting and bruising her head. The girl and her family didn’t want to press any charges.

Thanks for the Smoke… Not!

Thursday, June 19 at 12:33 p.m.
A 34-year-old woman called police Thursday after a very rude man thanked her for a spare cigarette in an odd way. The woman was smoking in the parking lot her apartment on the W232N6000 block of Waukesha Avenue when an unknown male walked over and asked to bum a cigarette. Once she handed one to him, he forcefully shoved her to the ground and fled. The woman sustained minor injuries, like a cut to the hand. Police are still on the lookout for this random white male.

Man Punches Girlfriend at Same Apartment

Saturday, June 23 at 2:03 p.m.
Police were called to the apartments on the W232N6000 block of Waukesha Avenue – the same apartments as the report above – for a domestic disturbance case. According to the report, a 33-year-old Sussex man currently released from jail on bail got in a verbal fight with his girlfriend because he thought she was being unfaithful. The fight escalated and the man punched the 30-year-old Sussex woman in the head. He was charged with battery.

Bloody Fight at Sussex Bowl

Sunday, June 24 at 12:17 a.m.
An onlooker called police to the Sunday morning to report a brawl that quickly got out of hand. A 31-year-old drunk man began shoving people and getting into arguments with patrons. One 27-year-old man in particular was not amused and got into an all-out fight with the man. When police arrived, the victim had bloody gauze on his knee, but refused to pursue charges for battery. The drunken man, however, was still arrested and taken away for two counts of disorderly conduct.

Uncontrollable, Drunk Sussex Woman

Monday, June 25 at 2:29 a.m.
Employees at called police after closing time Monday morning to report an extremely intoxicated patron who refused to leave. , 22, lost her cell phone and refused to leave from beneath the pool table until she found it. Her 31-year-old, “extremely intoxicated” aunt was trying to console the hysterical woman, but couldn’t. She was recently charged in , and you can read the very detailed – and odd – description of that night .
