OWI and Resisting Arrest

Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 1:21 a.m.
Police followed and eventually chased a car driving recklessly, speeding and blowing stop signs Tuesday night before the diver finally pulled over near the corner of Locust Street and Popular Avenue. Before stopping, the diver blew another stop sign, hit a curb and struck a tree. Kraig Hardt, a 31-year-old man from Butler, jumped out of his car and attempted to run. He sprinted through backyards before police caught him and took him into custody. Hardt was charged with an OWI and resisting arrest.

Fight

Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 1:25 p.m.
Two men got in a fistfight in the parking lot of the Wednesday before police were called to the scene. About 30 to 35 people were in the parking lot when police arrived. According to the report, a 49-year-old Sussex man was allegedly staring at another man’s wife. The man who started the fight noticed and said, “I’m gonna’ (expletive) him up.” He struck the Sussex man in the face, and then fled the scene. No charges were filed.

Emergency Medical Services

Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 10:42 p.m.
Police and EMS crews were called to the Wednesday night. Upon arrival, they discovered that a 23-year-old Sussex male had smoked K2, the formerly legal marijuana substitute, and was having a negative reaction. Although K2 has recently been made illegal, no drugs or paraphernalia was found on the man, so no charges were filed.
