Top-Seeded Cardinals' Drop One Game to Falls
The Menomonee Falls Lakers defeated the Cardinals Sunday, and will advance to the finals Saturday. The Cardinals will still play for the championship Sunday in Sussex.
The Sussex Cardinals dropped a first round game Sunday against the Menomonee Falls Lakers.
The Cardinals lost 10-6 to the fifth-seeded Lakers in the Land O' Lakes Western Division semifinal, according to LOL baseball online. The Cardinals were Western Division regular season champions, finishing with a 15-3 record during the summer season. They had outscored their opponents by 71 points, according to league statistics.
The Lakers will pitch and hit for the finals against Pewaukee at 1 p.m. Saturday in Pewaukee. As a double elimination tournament, the Cardinals will play the winner of the Pewaukee and Falls for the championship on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Sussex.
