Sussex Student Receives National Honor

Cecilia Cortez joins an international group of young scholars.

Hamilton High School student, Cecilia Cortez, has been chosen to join the National Society of High School Scholars.

The NSHSS recognizes top scholar students from around the country that have demonstrated leadership, scholarship, and community commitment. The announcement was made by the organization's founder Claes Nobel, who is part of the family that established the Nobel Prize.
There are currently 830,000 NSHSS members in over 160 countries.

"On behalf of NSHSS, I am honored to recognize the hard work, sacrifice, and commitment that Cecilia has demonstrated to achieve this exceptional level of academic excellence," Nobel said. "Cecilia is now a member of a unique community of scholars - a community that represents our best hope for the future."

Cortez will now enjoy the many benefits members of NSHSS are entitled to, including scholarship opportunities, academic competitions, free events, member-only resources, and participation in programs offered by educational partners.
