Maple Avenue Students Come Through for Charity

Students collect enough coins to buy more than 100 books for the Ronald McDonald House.

School students were able to buy more than 100 books for the Ronald McDonald House by collecting coins through a drive at the school.

During the five-day Scholastic Books β€œOne for Books” collection, students raised more than $500 by contributing specific coins each day. They started with pennies, and subsequently contributed nickels, dimes and quarters. On the final day, students brought in coins of their choice.

Maple Avenue fourth grade students organized the project, wrote and read school announcements, collected money and selected books. This is the third year Maple Avenue students have provided books for the children and families who stay at the Ronald McDonald House.
