Hands-on Project Helps Students Explore the Past

Templeton sixth-graders learn first-hand see how ancient Egyptians used technology to irrigate crops.

sixth-graders recently brought their social studies unit on ancient Egypt to life by utilizing a combination of science, technology, engineering and math skills.

The students designed and developed a shaduf, which was used for irrigating crops in ancient Egypt, after technology and engineering teacher Shannon Flaherty and social studies teacher Cathy Kaiser collaborated to integrate the two curriculums.
