Still Time to Volunteer for Ridgeview Park Build Saturday

Residents are asked to come out and help build improvements to the park in order to help shape the community and save Sussex some money.

is still looking for volunteers to help out Saturday in building improvements for.

Amy Jeske, director of recreational services, said right now 22 people have signed up to help with the build, but they would like to have at least 30 because of the size of the project.

“It’s kind of neat because they’re building a part of Sussex history,” she said. “I think people would have a sense of pride for year to come when they come out together to help out the community.”

The Ridgeview Park volunteers will work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday building new playground equipment themed after a ship that has gotten neighbors of the park excited.

Earlier this summer volunteers helped build playground improvements at . The projects were the first two community builds done by the village and are expected to save thousands of dollars in installation costs. The Ridgeview Park installation alone was projected to cost more than $10,000

Jeske said many of the volunteers for the build are coming from the Sussex , but all members of the community who are energetic and willing to get involved are welcome to help out.  Tools and supervision will be supplied by village workers.
