Library Offers Various Events, Programs

Holiday Piano Sunday, computer lessons and Lego club among the programs offered.

Below is a list of events and programs, provided by library staff, that is happening at the Pauline Haass Public Library.

Holiday Piano Sunday
The library is looking for pianists of all ages who feel accomplished enough to confidently entertain library users with holiday music on Sunday, December 16, 2:00-3:45 p.m.  Performers should be prepared to present either a fifteen minute or a thirty minute program.  Parental permission is required for performers under the age of 16. 

Knitting Club
Tuesdays September 11-December 18, 4-5 pm
Join knitters of all ages and skill levels at the library’s weekly Knitting Club. Share tips and project ideas as you work on your latest project. All ages, no registration.

Computer Lessons
If you are just starting out with computers, or are eager to learn more, schedule a free one-on-one computer lesson with a librarian. We will custom the lesson to your needs. Call (262) 246-5181 at least a week in advance to schedule a free hour-long lesson.

Book Clubs
The library sponsors four book clubs for adults: the Monday Night Book Club (first Monday of the month); the Mystery Book Club (first Wednesday of the month); the Guys’ Book Club (second Wednesday of the month); and the Afternoon Book Club (third Wednesday of the month). Sign up today to read interesting books and have friendly, thought-provoking discussions.

Holiday Cookie Madness
December 12 at 6-7 p.m. teens are welcome to come decorate cookies at the library.  Plain cookies will be transformed into festive delights!  Bring your holiday spirit, creative vision, and of course –a sweet tooth!  Also there will be a white elephant gift exchange.  Bring a gently used, colorfully wrapped gift to participate.  Your trash could be someone else’s treasure!  No registration is required

Children’s programs
5K & 1st Grade Experience It!:  Wednesday, December 19 at 4:30-5:15 p.m.
Experience something new through imagination and play! Join us for this hands-on learning class.  Registration required; register in person at the Children’s Services Desk.



4th, 5th & 6th Grade Book Discussion:  Wednesday, 4:30-5:15 p.m.
Join us as we talk about this Waukesha County Kids’ Choice Award nominee and enjoy an  after-school snack. Books generously provided by the Friends of the Pauline Haass Library.  Registration required; register in person at the Children’s Services Desk.
December 19:  The Candymakers by Wendy Mass
