Lace Up Those Running, Walking Shoes For Village's 5k Run Saturday
Proceeds go to recreation scholarship fund.
Lace up those running and walking shoes and sign up for the village's 5K Run/Walk to be held Saturday.
Proceeds from the event, which begins at 8:30 a.m. at Lion's Open Air Pavillion in the Sussex Village Park, go to the recreation scholarship fund. The fund was established to support children and adult's participation in recreational activities for those who may otherwise be unable to pay for it to due to financial limitations.
Registration is $20 for individuals and $40 for families. Registration is available on the day of the event from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. at the park.
Registration can be done on the Sussex Recreation Department site.
Each runner and walker will recieve a sport tumbler to commemorate their participation in the event. Drinking water will be provided in the park and on the route. Participants are asked not to bring dogs.
The top male and female finishers will win gift certificates from the InStep running store. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. The awards ceremony will be held near the finish line immediately following the event.
