Walker To Visit Sussex Engineering Firm For Jobs Announcement

Bevco Engineering is expected to announce 20 new jobs.

Governor Scott Walker is scheduled Thursday to attend a brown bag event at Bevco Engineering in Sussex, where he is expected to be on hand for a job announcement by the company. 

Bevco Engineering is expected to announce the creation of 20 new jobs at the company headquarters on Miller Way, according to a press statement released by the governor's office Wednesday.  

The 35-year-old company makes custom electrical controls for industrial, municipal and material handling applications.

The Republican governor continues to make job creation a priority, according to his Web site. 

"We are committed to working hard to keep growing Wisconsin jobs for workers and families in our great state," said Walker in a statement in August.

Walker has promised to create 250,000 jobs in four years. But in August, his administration said Wisconsin had added about 37,500 between March 2011 and March 2012. At that pace, the state will create 150,000 jobs during his first term. 

Christopher Shult, the CEO of Bevco Engineering, was one of  from the village, giving the govenor $5,000 during his successful bid to stave off recall this spring.
