Election to Decide New Village Leadership

Village Board, president, and two judicial positions only contested races on Tuesday's ballot.

Sussex residents will decide Tuesday who will lead the village for the next two years, but that's not the only race on the ballot.

Village Trustee Greg Goetz will square off against Hamilton School Board President Gabe Kolesari in the . The winner will replace Tony Lapcinski and serve a two-year term.

In the , incumbent trustees Timothy Dietrich and Jason Wegner will face former trustees Jim Batzko and Michael Knapp. The three candidates who collect the most votes will win a two-year term on the board, and replace Trustee Steve Berger, who isn’t seeking re-election.

Voters will also decide the between Judge Kathleen Stilling and assistant District Attorney Lloyd Carter, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court race between Justice Davie Prosser and Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg.

There are two uncontested circuit court races on the ballot as District III Judge Ralph Ramirez and District XI Judge Bill Domina both seek another term on the bench.

Waukesha County Executive Dan Vrakas is also running unopposed for re-election.

In the Hamilton School District, board member Jim Long and Michael Hyland are both running unopposed. Arrowhead School Board Member Michael Kusch, Stone Bank School Board Member Craig Thompson and Richmond School Board candidate Joseph LeBlanc are all also running unopposed.

All Sussex residents will vote at the , W239N5678 Maple Ave. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

If you haven't registered to vote yet, you can do so at the polls on Tuesday as long as you have proof of residence, which can include a driver's license or state identification card, a utility bill, property tax bills, leases and other documents.
