Business Park On Meissner Farm To Be Proposed Again

Michael Mooney, the chairman of NAI/MLG Commercial would not elaborate on the commercial park that would sit on the Meissner Farm land.

A business park at Highway 164 and Silver Spring Road will be proposed to the village within the next couple of months, the Sussex Sun is reporting.

Michael Mooney, the chairman of NAI/MLG Commercial told the paper that he would not elaborate on the commercial park that would sit on the Meissner Farm land.

MLG proposed a plan earlier in 2012 that entailed the village to "purchase the 120 acres for about $2.3 million and then spend another $4.1 million building the streets, utilities and other public improvements needed for the park that would be developed by NAI/MLG," the paper said.

"The plan called for the village to use revenues from a tax increment financing district to pay for the improvements," the paper added.

The plan was abandoned when the cost of sewer lines and the main entrance was found to be underestimated.
