Bob Zarzynski Named Newest Village Trustee

Zarzynski has served on the village's Finance and Personnel Committee, which village leaders say will make him a good fit to serve on the board.

The Sussex Village Board voted unanimously Tuesday to name Bob Zarzynski as the village’s newest trustee.

Zarzynski, who is currently a citizen member of the village’s Finance and Personnel Committee and a member of the Sussex Area Chamber of Commerce, was sworn in Tuesday to fill the vacant seat created by the election of Greg Goetz as village president in April. He will serve out the remaining year of the term.

Although sworn in Tuesday, Zarzynski was unable to remain for the board meeting due to a personal matter he needed to attend to.

“I’m looking forward to serving,” he told the board.

Zarzynski was chosen for the position from a field of 10 applicants who were interviewed last week by Trustee Pat Tetzlaff.

Trustee Jason Wegner, who chairs the Finance and Personnel Committee, said Zarzynski has been a valuable and active member of the committee, and will make a good addition to the board.

Goetz said he was glad to see so many applicants come forward for the position and Tetzlaff said of the nine not chosen for the position, five have expressed interest in serving on a committee.

“They were all outstanding people,” she said. “They would have all done a great job for the village.”
