A 29-year-old Oshkosh man is accused of posting an advertisement on Craigslist offering to pay young girls for sexual favors and then meeting with the undercover detective who responded to the ad in Sussex.
Aaron L. Martin was charged Tuesday with using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime. He faces up to 25 years in prison and a $100,000 fine if convicted.
According to the criminal complaint:
A Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department detective was working on an undercover investigation when he found an advertisement for a man seeking young girls for sex favors. “$$$ younger the better $$ cant host but can travel or in my car.”
The detective responded to the advertisement, saying he was a 14-year-old girl and sent a picture of a teenage girl. The detective chatted with the man from November through January.
The man responded with sexually explicit messages and pictures and offered to pay the girl between $40 and $100 for sexual favors. The detective arranged to meet the man at a fast food parking lot in Sussex on Monday. Martin was arrested when he arrived at the location.
Martin told investigators he posted ads on Craigslist for years. He admitted to making contact with girls and paying them for sexual favors. He also admitted he drove to Sussex to pay a 14-year-old girl $50 for oral sex, adding that he didn’t normally meet underage girls.
