Sussex Man Tries Passing Forged Adderall Prescription in Milwaukee

A 28-year-old Sussex man is facing charges after he got caught trying to pass a prescription for Adderall he made on his home computer.

James W. Kalupa was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of attempt to obtain a controlled substance by misrepresentation. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison and $5,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

On Sunday, Milwaukee police officers were called to a Walgreens pharmacy in the 6400 block of North 76th Street after Kalupa came in and tried to pass the forged prescription for 60 Adderall pills. The pharmacist noticed the document looked photocopied and discovered Kalupa was known to pass fake Adderall prescriptions, so she called police.

Kalupa admitted to taking a photo of an old prescription then trying to change the date on his computer. He said he was trying to get the drugs because he’s “going through some things” and is all out of his prescription.

It should be noted that Kalupa has been caught driving under the influence three times, and he's been caught with drug paraphernalia.

Kalupa has been turned over to the JUSTICE 2000 program while awaiting trial.
