PD: Man Lies About ID, Claims to be his Cousin

Marcel A. Bois, 29, of Sussex, took off running from Waukesha police officers after it was reported he was tearing up copper, according to a criminal complaint.

A Sussex man is accused of identifying himself as his cousin when Waukesha police officers were investigating two suspicious individuals who were tearing up copper in the 1000 block of Tesch Court.

Marcel A. Bois, 29, was charged Wednesday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with obstructing an officer. Because he has previous convictions, he faces up to 2-3/4 years in jail if convicted.

Waukesha Water Utility employees contacted the Waukesha Police Department last Oct. 30 after they saw two people tearing up copper, according to the complaint. Police officers made contact with the two individuals who gave their names to police.

Bois gave his cousin’s name to police and took off running, the complaint states, but an employee of a nearby business identified him as Bois.

Police caught up with Bois in February, when he admitted to giving them his cousin’s name, according to the complaint.
