Sussex Man Charged With Taking Ex's Credit Cards
Suspect tells police he found her credit cards outside the victim's apartment. However, he continued to charge items in Sussex, Jackson, Hartford and Illinois.
A 24-year-old Sussex man is facing charges after he allegedly took his ex-girlfriend’s credit cards and used them to purchase items around the area.
Justin D. Klein was charged in Friday with one count of identity theft for financial gain. If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

On March 18, a Hartland woman living in the 500 block of Sunnyslope Drive contacted police after she noticed two of her credit cards went missing. Not only were they gone, but someone had used one to charge $168 in items in Sussex, Jackson, Hartford and Illinois. She suspected her ex-boyfriend in the theft.
Klein was interviewed by police on March 18, where he admitted to taking the cards after he found them outside the victim’s apartment.

He will make his initial appearance in court June 4.
