Sussex Man Supposedly Tosses Pot Wrapped in His Check Stub Out of Car

A Sussex man is accused of tossing marijuana out of his car window while a Milwaukee police officer is trying to pull him over.

A Sussex man is accused of trying to get rid of marijuana during a traffic stop by tossing the drug out his window wrapped in one of his own paystubs.

Mark Anthony Perry Jr., 20, was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Friday with one count of possession of THC, which is the active ingredient in marijuana. If convicted, he faces up to six months in jail and $1,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

At 10:39 p.m. Nov. 20, a Milwaukee police officer on patrol in the 3000 block of North 20th Street spotted Perry driving a Lexus with excessively dark window tint, so he decided to pull the car over. However, Perry slowed down, tossed paper out of the passenger side window, then kept driving until he stopped just south of West Burleigh Street.

Perry was ordered out of the car and officers found paperwork for Louis Hoffman Company, which included a paycheck made out to Perry. Officers then went over to the paper tossed out the car and found it was a paycheck stub also from Louis Hoffman Company.

Perry is out of custody while awaiting trial.
