On Oct. 30, Steinbrecher went into a home in the N6600 block of Bowling Green Street and took a purse off a table while the residents were asleep. The purse contained cash, a wallet and a bottle of Oxycodone.

On Dec. 18, police were called to Steinbrecher’s sister’s home in the Hartland after he allegedly took a necklace and 20 DVDs while she was gone. She suspected her brother and during the course of the investigation, investigators learned Steinbrecher had broken into the Sussex residence.

He was interviewed by police on Feb. 20 and admitted to the burglary and theft. He said he took the items because he has an opiate addiction and wanted to buy Tramadols. He took the necklace to a pawn shop, but was offered very little cash for it, so he gave it to a friend who then gave it to his wife.

Police recovered it from a Sussex home and explained to the woman the item had been stolen.

He will make his initial appearance in court April 2.
