Akemann, Claire G. (nee MacFall), 82, of Pewaukee, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving mother of Barb (Tom) Emmerich, Neil (Mary) and Shari (Steve) Vespested, both of Prior Lake, MN. Beloved “Grandmumzy” of Peter, David and Kevin Emmerich. Claire is survived by other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband David, parents Olga and Cecil MacFall, sister Dorothy Boyer and brother F. Edward Macfall.
Claire was a founding member of Brookfield Congregational Church, longtime member of the Pewaukee Yacht Club, Pewaukee Woman’s Club and various craft and knitting clubs; both in the Milwaukee area and her winter home in Naples, FL. She had a green thumb and a love of gardening that will be fondly remembered. She loved to sing and did so in the church choir for 40 years, as well as local community theatre productions. She was very proud of her three grandsons and enjoyed attending their athletic events.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday November 16, 2012 at Brookfield Congregational Church, 16350 Gebhardt Road in Brookfield, at 7pm. Visitation will be from 4pm until time of service. Private inurnment at Wisconsin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Claire’s name to the Brookfield Congregational Church Heritage Fund. The family wishes to thank the Waukesha Memorial Hospital Oncology Department and the amazing staff at Season’s Hospice.
