Most of us do not know what grief will be like until we experience it first hand through the death of a loved one. We expect to feel sad and lonely, but we may be surprised when we have feelings of anger and guilt. Memories are both comforting and painful. Being with loved ones can help fill the void but also deepen the loneliness. Yes, grief is confusing, but as Virginia Barckley reminds us, it occurs only because we have known deep love.
A six week supportive group for those who are grieving will be offered at Redeemer United Church of Christ, W220 N4915 Town Line Rd. Sussex, WI 53089.

It will be held on Thursdays, from 10:00-11:30am, July 14th -August 18th, 2011.
It is most beneficial, but not required, for participants to attend all 6 gatherings. This group will be facilitated by Nancy Vollbrecht, Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Nancy has experience in hospice, grief counseling and grief support. Some of the topics addressed will include: - Understanding Grief - Remembering - Accepting/Expressing Feelings - Role Changes - Stress & Coping - Rituals/ Anniversaries/ Memorials
