The Washington County Humane Society's Walk For The Animals

On Saturday, August 17th The Washington County Humane Society
is hosting its annual Walk For The Animals.   The walk will be held
at Jackson Park in Jackson.  Registration begins at 9am, the walk starts at
10am and the fun goes until 4pm.  Registration fees and forms can be found
on our web site at www.washingtoncountyhumane.org

This year’s theme is KEEP CALM AND WALK FOR THE ANIMALS … Pets
and their human companions are invited to join us as we Walk For The Animals to
demonstrate our concern for homeless animals and raise money for WCHS. All
animal lovers are invited ... with or without a pet!   Lt. David
Huesemann and Rambo will lead the way … walkers can choose from a 1.5-mile or
2.5-mile route.  All walkers will leave at the same time regardless of their route choice. Water
for the animals and their companions will be provided along the route.

Animals adopted from our shelter proudly wear a special bandana signifying saved
lives and second chances. After the walk has been completed, the shelter honors
the top walkers who brought in the most pledges.  There will be great fun,
vendors to shop with, food to eat, nail trims for your pets, dog and owner
games, demos, a silent auction and raffle prizes.  We are also excited to
have Brad Beach at our event – he will be there for photo opportunities and to
meet with Milwaukee Wave fans.  And if that isn’t enough excitement … we
are pleased to announce that Pier Pups will be at our event. Pier Pups is a
canine dock jumping event where dogs are encouraged by their owners and the
crowd to jump into the water and retrieve their favorite toy! Novice and
experienced dogs welcome. $12 allows the dog two attempts.  To register for Pier Pup
competitions go to www.pierpups.com.
