Anti-Meijer Lawsuit Strikes Out in County Court

A judge ruled that Larry Pfannerstill's suit cannot be heard because of where he lives.

A resident’s litigious attempt to block the Sussex Meijer store has been denied by a Waukesha County judge.

The Business Journal of Milwaukee ruled that Larry Pfannerstill of Pewaukee cannot successfully sue because he does not live next to the property — only near it.

The Sussex store, to be located at Highways K and 164, will be about a 200,000-square-foot complex. The store plans to hire 200 to 250 employees and will also include a gas station on the premises. It’s one of a series of Meijer stores being planned in southeastern Wisconsin.
