Plenty of Summer Fun at New Park and Rec Day Camps

This week campers went "Around the World in Five Days," and next few weeks they will have fun learning about the ocean and having a carnival.

Youngsters in the "Around the World in Five Days" summer day camp, hosted by the Sussex Park and Recreation Department, spent this week learning all about the continents of the world.

They made Mexican piñatas, ate Canadian-style maple syrup sundaes, played the London Bridges game, made penguin and polar bear puppets, made Asian fans, used chopsticks and much more.

throughout the summer, and there is still stime for kids ages 6 to 10 to sign up for them.

“It’s a good idea for kids to participate in summer activities like these to keep them occupied while still learning. Each week will have different crafts and activities, so kids can sign up for one week or all nine,” said Amy Jeske, director of recreational services.

The program runs through Aug. 19.
