Library Offers New Parent-Child Program

New program is designed to benefit children and parents through literacy and discussions.

will offer a new program that allows kids to enjoy an evening story time while parents take part in an adult-focused discussion.

During the series, every Thursday from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m., parents can send their children to indulge in a story. During that time a local professional will talk with parents about a variety of subjects suited towards parenting.

The program starts February 9 and runs until March 29. Registration begins January 3.

Sue Klop, youth services librarian, said the dual program reflects the library’s mission to - “connect people to information, ideas and one another.”

The series Parent Talks will feature discussion topics such as 30-minute meals, ways to clean friendly, benefits of Pilates and ways to save for a child’s education.

Klop said the sessions would be filled with a wide range of helpful hints for parents and caregivers.
