New Pizza Parlor May Be Coming to Main Street

With Plan Commission approval, the former Pepino's Pizza location will be occupied by a new pizzeria.

If the Sussex Plan Commission approves, a new pizza parlor will soon open its doors in the former Pepino’s Pizza location at N64W24370 Main St.

Marcileno’s Pizzeria and Grill is seeking permission to occupy a spot in the strip mall sometime during the first two weeks of April.

“I’m looking to serve pizza and it will be a dine-in, delivery and carry-out restaurant,” said Marcileno’s owner Marvin King. “I am also applying for a beer license. I think this will be a great opportunity for the neighborhood.

"The community deserves a place where people can order good, fresh, hot food with good service," he added. "We also want to have our footprint in the community. I’ve talked with the village about a food bank so we can have food drives and help out the community.”

This will be King’s second pizzeria venture. He operated Papa King’s restaurant at 107th Street and Granville Road in Milwaukee for about a year before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The resulting economic decline forced him to shut down the restaurant, but King says he is looking forward a new venture in Sussex.

“Sussex is absolutely beautiful, and has so many beautiful areas and homes,” he said. “People are friendly, and I think the community is coming along very nicely. This is a fresh start but I’m bringing a lot of knowledge with me.”

King added that he expects the new restaurant will bring work for at least six or seven people, including jobs for cooks and drivers. The restaurant will occupy 3,300 square feet of the 32,800-square-foot multi-tenant building.

“Our people (in Sussex) love to eat food,” said Village Administrator Jeremy Smith. “The more options for people, the better, and we wish all of our restaurants here success.”

The village's Plan Commission will review King's request at its meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at , N64W23760 Main St.
