'Easy Dose' Baggie Nets Felony Drug Charge for Sussex Woman

Off-duty police officer pumping gas in Delafield notices suspicious behavior and contacts authorities after smelling marijuana coming from four people, according to a criminal complaint.

A Sussex woman faces a felony charge after she was accused of having a baggie labeled “easy dose” that was filled with prescription pills.

Stephanie M. Landry, 24, was charged Tuesday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with possession of narcotic drugs. She faces up to 1.5 years in prison and $10,000 in fines if convicted.

An off-duty police officer pumping gas in Delafield noticed four people acting suspiciously, so he reported the possible drug transaction to dispatch. A K-9 Unit was called to the scene after the officer reported that all four people smelled like marijuana, according to the complaint.

Landry was in the car and told officers there were several marijuana pipes in the vehicle, the complaint states. She also had a baggie labeled “easy dose” filled with prescription pills.

Landry previously was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court after she was accused of lying to police when she reported being beaten up at a Sussex business. The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department’s investigation reveled Landry had stolen another woman’s purse and cell phone during an altercation, according to a criminal complaint in that matter.
