They were designed that way Randy. The problem is they started making changes not only to the policies, but also to the concept of Workfare. Then, once they started making exceptions for one, they had to make exceptions for all.
Never underestimate the ability of a politician to take a good government program an screw it up.

1) Even though they may have the ability to pay the higher attorneys' fees, they still have to prove that coverage was denied because of a contractual detail.
2) Attorney fees are not cheap. Depending on the cost of the medical procedure, they may be better off to commit to their contractual obligations.
3) Attorneys may write the fine print for the contract, but the company still has to remain competitive. No they won't give away the farm, but they also know bad publicity is bad for business.
4) As medical costs climb, and the government coffers decrease, the ability to pay for services will be limited. Don't believe me, check out Canada

John, I remember my Nixon-loving uncle picking and choosing the same sorts of quotes in 1973. By 1974 he was strangely silent. Lets see where this pans out.
Do I think B.O. will be impeached or forced to resign? No, but when the dust settles on Benghazi, the IRS scandal, Fast and Furious and AP wiretaps, we will know if B.O. is a lying, narcissistic crook, or just the incompetent boob Conservatives knew he was!

btw-since the Patient Protection and UNAFFORDABLE Care Act was passed, my insurance has gone up 20% (and now another 8% next year), my coverage has dropped and my deductible has increased. Apparently it is affordable care for everyone but The Anti-Alinsky!!!

Frances, Obama and the Democrats blew it. Once this piece of garbage legislation passed the Senate, and was guaranteed to pass the House, B.O. could have simply told the Republican, "Look, we are going to pass something. Work with us NOW to get a system in place that will still provide the high quality of care, yet bring costs down to something more reasonable. Otherwise, this passes the House and I sign it."
The best opportunity ever to get bipartisan legislation passed, and B.O. and the rest of the Democrats screwed it up by passing this crap.

Two things Frances:
1) The insurance company could not and still can not make a decision on whether or not you could get treatment, only if they were were going to pay for it.
2) The insurance company was not the final decision maker, you can still take them to court if you feel they are not meeting their contractual obligations. -

Duh Keith. Of course health care companies are going to raise prices. They are in business to stay in business, which means they are passing the costs of the UnAffordabel Care Act onto their users. They are not going to lose money just because B.O. and the Democrats are too clueless to realize ObamaNoCare is a piece of crap.
