Yeah, liberals have sent jobs overseas, suppressed the minimum wage and eliminated unions, all of which have had an impact on poverty. It's like blaming the guy making your breakfast for causing your hangover.
To believe this stuff about dependency, you have to discount the fact that people see their self-worth in their job -- I don't care who you are talking about. To believe otherwise creates an excuse to do nothing.
Oh, we know one or two people who would like to not work. But quite often that is a mental health problem masked by a defiance of society attitude.
