On the article Process Server Punched Out in Fox Point

Sara:
If the process server did their job properly and followed the law, then I feel sorry for them getting beat up. However, I have been a journalist for almost 10 years, and once time I heard about a shady process server (an ex-Marinette County Sheriffs Deputy) through a contact who lives north of Crivitz off US 141 that did not follow proper procedure and give due respect to the property owner. The first time they served papers without saying who they were, what the matter was about and get a signature. Instead they threw the papers on the ground and ran away to their vehicle and when leaving..cussed at the property owner on the way out...and said "I am going to get you...and your going to jail." The second time they came by they parked somewhere behind the owners property, and walked up to the house and slid the paperwork down a crack between the house and porch without knocking. So, what i am saying is that most process servers may be all right, there are others that are shady.

ReplyI live in Marinette County, north of Green Bay, and I really could smell the smoke on Monday night around 10 p.m. Thought someone was burning wood in a fire pit nearby, but saw the news and now I know what I was smelling. The wind was really blowing around that time with the Canadian cold front coming in. Haven't come across any odor Tuesday or Wednesday, and no hazy sky either. So, that is good.

On the article Pasch, Darling State Their Cases in Final Debate

ReplyNone of these debates do anything for me, because I believe that all the recall elections are a sham. None of the issues that brought on the recalls are worthy of recalling a state legislator, unless it was a felony/criminal or immoral. Let these politicians carry out there terms, and if the voters want to vote them out at the next election period..then let them. The same for Gov. Scott Walker. I think these recall elections are a waste of taxpayer money.

I used to cover several local government and school board meetings in the past as a news journalist...some boards will comment during the public comments, some will not because of Wisconsin Open Meeting laws. However, it looks like this board is in a whole lot of trouble -- not criminally but on a civil level - civil lawsuits will be coming...
