The GOP 'rock star' plans to join Gov. Scott Walker during his last month of the campaign before the Wisconsin recall election.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie — often dubbed one of the "rock stars" of the Republican party — is headed to Wisconsin next month to campaign for Gov. Scott Walker. The May 1 visit to Green Bay and Milwaukee comes about one month before the Republican governor will try to retain his seat in the state's historic recall election. Details were sketchy, but it appears anyone who wants to attend one of the two events will have to contribute $20 to Walker and will then be entered into a drawing for the chance to take part. "With your $20 contribution to Governor Walker’s campaign, you will be given a chance to not only see these two men of action in person, but will have a keepsake of a lifetime to take home with you," according to an email the …

With a recall election around the corner, Democrats are quick to label Gov. Scott Walker's administration a failure, while the Republican governor's camp claims most job losses occurred in Milwaukee under Mayor Tom Barrett's watch.
The keystone of Gov. Scott Walker‘s successful bid to become Wisconsin governor was his promise to create 250,000 new jobs in the state, but new data from the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics indicate the state has actually lost ground on that front. Now, rather than 250,000 jobs, Walker will need to create roughly 273,900 to fulfill his promise. According to the BLS, Wisconsin shed 23,900 jobs between March 2011 and 2012. It was the only state with a statistically significant percentage change in employment to report a net loss, the report said. According to JSOnline, public sector job losses totaled 17,800, while private sector job losses were 6,100. Of the 29 states to report a significant change in employment, Texas led the way in …

If the request is granted by a judge, a likely recall primary election would be held on May 15, with the general election on June 12.
The state's top election official plans to ask a judge for more time to review the Gov. Scott Walker recall petitions, which would push the date of a possible recall election back to May or June. Government Accountability Board Director Kevin Kennedy on Friday recommended the GAB board request an push its deadline back from March 19 to April 6. Kennedy said his staff cannot complete its work on the recall petitions against Walker and Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch until at least March 30. If the board moves forward with Kennedy's request at its meeting on Monday, the matter would go before Dane County Circuit Judge Richard Niess on Wednesday. If Niess grants the extension and the recall election was ordered on the newly proposed deadline, a …
