Trans-Siberian Orchestra Founder Coming to Sussex

Hamilton band and choir to perform with founding member of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Mark Wood.

Hamilton High School band and choir will perform with Mark Wood, founding member of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. in commemoration of Hamilton’s 50th anniversary. Not only is Mark Wood an Emmy-award winning composer and string master, he has collaborated with and appeared alongside some the biggest names in music including Lenny Kravitz, Celine Dion and Kanye West. As a member of his touring band, Wood performed with the legendary Billy Joel for both historic final concerts at Shea Stadium, sharing the stage with Paul McCartney, Steven Tyler and Roger Daltry. Wood has appeared on the world’s most venerable stages including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Madison Square Garden, and he now performs with our very own Hamilton …

Two Holiday Concerts On Tap

Hamilton student to perform for the community on Wednesday, Dec. 12 and 19 at the Hamilton Fine Arts Center.

Get in the holiday mood by attending two concerts at the Hamilton Fine Arts Center. On Wednesday, Dec. 12, the Templeton Middle School Eighth Grade Chorus, , Hamilton Concert Choir and Hamilton A Cappella Choir will perform for senior citizens and the community. The concert begins at 1 p.m. On Wednesday, Dec, 19, the Hamilton band program and chorus groups throughout the district will perform a festive celebration. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Both concerts are free.

'City of Sussex-Lisbon' to be Discussed Tuesday Night

This will be the third public forum Lisbon officials are holding to answer any questions and take comments from citizens regarding the Sussex-Lisbon merger.

Sussex and Lisbon-area residents are invited to the Hamilton Fine Arts Center on Town Line Road in Sussex on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. for another public forum regarding the potential merger between the two municipalities. This will be the third opportunity for citizens to talk with Town of Lisbon officials about the consolidation efforts by asking questions or giving comments. It's estimated that 300 people attended the last public forum, and the overwhelming majority of them opposed the merger. In addition, some town officials are already predicting this effort to merge will fail. Town Chairman Matt Gehrke said that there would have to be an overwhelming backing from voters for the Town Board to continue backing the idea. Sussex Week Ahead: National Night Out & Village Park Discussion

Between a gathering regarding the controversial Village Park reconstruction project to the annual National NIght Out, this is a list of places to be and things to do this week in Sussex.

Another public forum has been scheduled for Sussex and Lisbon residents looking for more information on the potential merger for Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Held at the Hamilton Fine Arts Center, this meeting will clear up any new or lingering questions residents may have, especially after the board said they may not support the merger.  Community members can enjoy seasonal, fresh produce and hand-crafted items weekly at Market on the Hill – Pewaukee’s Farmers Market – on the Waukesha County Technical College main Pewaukee campus. The market, coordinated by Positively Pewaukee and WCTC, is held Wednesdays through Oct. 24 – rain or shine – from 3 to 6:30 p.m. It is conveniently located at WCTC in Lot 19, next to the Workforce Development Center. …

PHOTOS: Murder-Mystery to be Performed at Hamilton

“Any Number Can Die” is the latest play slated for the Hamilton Fine Arts Center, and the students in the drama department are putting on the finishing touches before the show opens on Thursday.

Students in the Hamilton Drama Department are frantically putting the finishing touches on their latest work of art during the last few days of rehearsal before the big show. As the actors take their places and recite their lines, crew members continue to paint, screw and saw to ensure every detail is perfect for opening night on Thursday. The show runs Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Hamilton Fine Arts Center. The spring play is called “Any Number Can Die,” and it’s described as a hilarious take off on the mystery plays of the twenties complete with sliding panels, robed figures, wills being read at midnight and more. Four ingenious murders take place in an island mansion as a pair of elderly detectives …

PHOTOS: Beauty and the Beast Opens Thursday at Hamilton

The classic Disney fairy tale will be performed at the Hamilton Fine Arts Center four days.

The students in Hamilton High School's Drama Department have been working tirelessly since January, and with opening night on Thursday, final rehearsals have finally begun. The Disney classic "Beauty and the Beast" will run at the Hamilton Fine Arts Center at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday. While watching the young thespians do a full run-though of the musical on Monday evening, director and Hamilton's drama advisor Erin Brigham said she's excited for the performance. "We've been selling a ton of tickets so far," Brigham said. "I'm almost worried about having to turn people away." UW-Madison Marching Band to Perform at Hamilton

The band will perform on March 3 at the Hamilton Fine Arts Center.

The Hamilton Fine Arts Center celebrates the return of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Varsity Band Show at 2 p.m. on March 3. From its Fifth Quarter performances at Camp Randall Stadium after a Badger football game to the Hamilton stage, the UW Varsity Band is well-known for pleasing fans with its high-energy performance of favorites like “On Wisconsin” and “Varsity.” The band program will delight fans of all ages with songs from “Viva Elvis!” “An American In Paris,” “Jersey Boys,” “Porgy and Bess” and numerous Kohl Center classics.
