Woman Accused of Passing Bad Checks at Piggly Wiggly

Suspect wrote three checks for $51 each on three consecutive days.

A 27-year-old Pewaukee woman is facing charges after she allegedly passed three bad checks at a Sussex grocery store. Stephanie L. Keil was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court March 7 with three counts of issuing a worthless check. If convicted, she faces up to 27 months in prison and $30,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Nov. 18, 19 and 20, Keil went to Piggy Wiggly and wrote out a $51 check each time. All three checks were later returned to the store due to insufficient funds. A letter was sent to addresses for Keil in Menomonee Falls and Pewaukee, which were later returned marked “return to sender.” She will make her initial appearance in court March 26.

Woman Accused of Bouncing Checks for Almost $3,000 in Diesel Fuel

Woman allegedly wrote numerous bad checks to Citgo and never paid the station back for nearly $3,000 in charges and fees.

A Sturtevant woman is facing charges after she repeatedly bounced checks for diesel fuel at a Sussex gas station. Sandra L. Nelson, 50, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of theft. If convicted, she faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: Between July 27 and Sept. 2, Nelson filled up trucks for Don’s Towing and Truck Service on multiple occasions at Citgo. Each time she filled up the trucks, her checks would bounce, which added up to a total loss of $2,847. The owner said Nelson had written bad checks to the business before, but in the past she has paid up when notified of the issue. Sussex Woman Charged After Passing Bad Checks For Gas

Suspect had passed three bad checks at Quick Corners and then left without paying the fourth time she tried.

A Sussex woman is facing charges after she allegedly passed several bad checks for gas at an area gas station. Jodi A. Kubek, 43, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of theft and three counts of issuance of a worthless check. If convicted, she could face up to three years in prison and $40,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Sept. 22, Kubek pumped $51 worth of gas into her vehicle at Quick Corners, W232N6116 Waukesha Ave., and attempted to pay the clerk with a check, however, was told she had passed three other worthless checks at the store and would have to pay cash. She then told the clerk she would be right back and then left. Kubek is scheduled to make her initial appearance on court …

Check her CCAP....she KNEW she was doing this, so yes that's a crime. If you've written three bad checks to one establishment, I think you have a pretty good idea that you're out of money before you've written the fourth. Not to mention the theft of $51 worth of gas.   more ›
