PHOTOS: Youth Art Reception Huge Success at Library

Hamilton art students showed off their work at the library to a group of more than 600 art enthusiasts.

Art students throughout the Hamilton School District wrangled in a crowd Thursday night in honor of the Annual Youth Art Month, and the number of Sussex residents that showed up amazed organizers.  Celebrated at the Pauline Haass Public Library, the art reception honoring students and teachers ran between 4-6 p.m. Kara Rosenthal, the library's youth services director, took photos during the event and was impressed with the turnout. "We had 642 people visit the Hamilton Youth Art Month art reception last Thursday!" Rosenthal said. "The Friends of the Library provided refreshments, and the library's children's department provided create-your-own art activities and face painting." Sussex Week Ahead: Art Show and Office Hours

This is a list of things to do and places to be this week in Sussex.

Members of the Village Board will be meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Sussex Village Hall to discuss various topics concerning Sussex. Topics on the agenda include upcoming events in the village and the possibility of shutting down Main Street for the Lions Daze parade. Sussex residents are encouraged to attend to get a first-hand experience of how decisions are made in the village and voice their opinions.  Every Wednesday, you can find me, Andy Ambrosius, at Starbucks on Main Street from 1-3 p.m. for "office hours." While it's not exactly my office, we can sip coffee and chat about anything you'd like: ideas for stories, Sussex Patch improvements, etc. So swing by and say "Hey!"
