Muscle Car Links Sussex Man to Shoplifting, Police Say

Sussex man is charged in Franklin shoplifting incident after police say he flees the scene in a AMC Javelin.

A 26-year-old Sussex man was traced back to a shoplifting caper in Franklin after police say he decided to drive a collectible muscle car to the crime. John E. Ingham was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Saturday with one count of felony retail theft. If convicted, he faces up to 1 1/2 years in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Sept. 14, a security officer at Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., Franklin, spotted Ingham inside the store with $663 in merchandise inside a shopping cart, then push the car out of the store without paying. Sussex Woman Tries to Flush Problems Down the Drain

Woman and her male accomplice are caught stealing items from Menard's in Waukesha, but she runs and tries to flush the ill gotten gains down the toilet.

While we all might want to flush away our problems, one Sussex woman is learning the hard way you can’t flush those problems away in a literal sense. Jaye M. Snake, 57, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Monday after she and an alleged male accomplice stole items from Menard’s in Waukesha, then tried to flush the items down the toilet to avoid arrest. According to the criminal complaint: On Aug. 16, a Menard’s security officer spotted Snake and the man enter the store with a pink backpack, then begin placing items in a shopping cart and on the backpack. He noticed the two put some items in the backpack, so he then followed them to the garden center in the store.   Snake then put more items in the backpack and slung it over her …

Grocery Thief Caught Red-Handed, Faces $10K in Fines

The Sussex woman stole more than $350 in groceries from the Brookfield Metro Market, telling police she tried to take the food because she was having money problems.

A Sussex woman is facing charges that allege she tried to steal more than $300 in groceries from a Brookfield supermarket. Ashley N. Hoffmann, 23, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Monday with one count of retail theft. If convicted, she faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: At 10:20 a.m. Saturday, employees at Metro Market spotted Hoffmann trying to conceal merchandise and take and steal it from the store. While she was loading the items into her van in the parking lot, she was approached and asked to show a receipt, but Hoffmann said she didn’t have time and took off. She was stopped a short time later by a Wisconsin State Trooper on Capitol Drive. Hoffmann had $355 worth …

Teen Charged For Stealing From Kohl's

Sussex girl, 17, is caught stealing mascara and a necklace with two accomplices.

A Sussex teenager is facing charges after she was caught trying to steal mascara and a necklace from Kohl’s. Brianna E. Biswell, 17, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of retail theft. If convicted, she faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On July 20, police were called to the store after a security officer at Kohl’s spotted Biswell and two other girls take mascara and necklaces from a counter then go into a change room together. The girls walked out of the room shortly afterwards and personnel found the tags for the merchandise on the floor. Man Faces $10,000 Fine for Stealing $11 Item from Shopko

The Milwaukee man only had $10 for the $11 bottle of conditioner he wanted.

A 25-year-old South Milwaukee man is facing charges after he was caught shoplifting from a Sussex department store. Jeremy J. Gasiorowski was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Monday with one count of retail theft. If convicted, he faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Jan. 6, security officers at Shopko saw Gasiorowski walk into the store with a shopping cart and Kohl’s shopping bag, place a bottle of Crew conditioner in the cart and walk around the store. After awhile, he abandoned the cart and bag, and tried to conceal the bottle of conditioner in his jacket sleeve. Gasiorowski then walked out of the store with the bottle and was confronted by the security officers. …

Sussex Woman Accused of Pushing Piggly Wiggly Owner

Suspect caused owner neck pains after she was caught trying to shoplift from the store, authorities say.

A 22-year-old Sussex woman is facing charges after she allegedly pushed over one of the owners of Piggly Wiggly while trying to steal goods from the store. Cathryn L. Berg was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Friday with one count of theft, one count of disorderly conduct and one count of battery. If convicted, she faces up to 21 months in prison and $21,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On July 7, store owner Donna Lipofski spotted Berg taking items from shelves and placing them in her backpack. Lipofski went to confront her about stealing the items, but Berg yelled at Lipofski, then pushed her hard and ran away. Police were able to track Berg because she had used her boyfriend’s store card.
