Brookfield Woman Accused of Stealing Scrap Metal From Sussex Company
Woman runs from sheriff's deputy, but then comes back saying it was too cold out to keep hiding.
A 26-year-old Brookfield woman is accused of stealing scrap metal from a Sussex business. Meghann E. Collazo was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court last Monday with one count of theft. If convicted, she faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: At 2:10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, a Waukesha County sheriff’s deputy was on patrol in an industrial area when he spotted a suspicious car parked at Golner Precision Products, N56W24600 Corporate Circle. The deputy approached the car and found a bin inside with metal shavings and shavings all over the outside of the tunk.
