Sussex Fire Department Holding Blood Drive Saturday

The BloodCenter of Wisconsin is hosting a blood drive at the Sussex Fire Department on Saturday. Save a life and sign up.

The Sussex Fire Department on Main Street in the heart of the village is playing host to a very important cause on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.  The BloodCenter of Wisconsin is setting up shop at the local fire department so Sussex-area residents can make a life-saving donation. According to the BloodCenter's website, nearly 800 donors are needed every day to maintain the demand from hospitals the center supplies.  And with summer being one of the lulls in donations, the BloodCenter is ramping up opportunities for residents to help.  If you're interested in donating blood on Saturday morning, make an appointment on the BloodCenter's website, or call Greg Zoellick at (262) 246-5220 and he will assist you.

First Main Street Workshop Set to Hash Out Construction Details

The meeting won't take place at Village Hall because officials are anticipating a large crowd.  The purpose of the meeting is for the board members to begin to look over the comments gathered at the multiple public forums and begin to talk about the various options. Consultants from the design team will be on hand to answer any questions from the board.  "This will be the first time the Village Board will have walked through the …

The reason we moved to Sussex and love it will be lost if we get roundabouts on Main Street. I'm really concerned about the businesses that will be effected. I just don't understand why we have to decide on anything right now. We're still in a national recession and NOW is NOT the time to spend money we still don't have. We still don't know what's coming, economically speaking. Have we learned …   more ›
