Sussex's Power Test Among Top 10 Waukesha County Businesses

Waukesha County Business Alliance has announced the 2013 Top 10 Businesses of the Year. This awards program recognizes companies headquartered in southeastern Wisconsin

Power Test Inc. Launches Entry-level Machinists Training Program

The first graduating class had five of six graduates obtain employment in manufacturing-related occupations. Participating trainees complete eight weeks of instruction.

Sussex’s Power Test, Inc. has launched the Manufacturer’s Resource Training (MRT), which trains individuals to become entry-level machinists for area employers.  Power Test, winner of Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year, developed the MRT program in response to the challenge faced in the area in finding workers with the skills needed to fill job openings. Participating trainees complete eight weeks of instruction at Power Test’s facility in Sussex, learning how to operate a variety of manually operated machines and gaining experience in assembly, inspection, shipping, and welding. Power Test Hosting Tree Lighting Celebration

The night will include include hot chocolate, cookies, and lovely (or not so lovely) singing.

Power Test Inc. is celebrating the holiday season by sponsoring a tree lighting ceremony to benefit the needy. Power Test will host the tree lighting at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at N60W22700 Silver Spring Dr. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served, but organizers are asking guests to bring donations for the Sussex Outreach Services. Oh yeah, the night will also include lovely (or not so lovely) singing. PHOTOS: School Board Awards Local Business, Student Rep

The Hamilton School District presented one of it's top honors to a local manufacturer Monday after the business contributed endless support to students.

The Community Service Award, one of the Hamilton School District's top honors, was presented to Sussex manufacturer Power Test on Monday evening. President Alan Petelinsek, Sales and Marketing Manager Todd Jerred and Production Manager Greg Johnson accepted the award. Superintendent Kathleen Cooke, Ph.D., said Power Test was chosen because it has been an outstanding partner. The company has provided input into the curriculum, served on the district’s Business Advisory Council, donated technical tools to the high school, provided student tours of the company and provided jobs for numerous Hamilton students. “On behalf of the Hamilton school board, and more so on behalf of our students, we'd like to thank you for all you've done for the …

Two Sussex Companies Win Manufacturer of The Year Awards

Power Test, Inc. and Waukesha Metal Products win award for small-sized company grand award.

Two Sussex manufacturing businesses have won a Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Award, beating out more than 50 other state companies. Power Test Inc. and Waukesha Metal Products  won the “Small-sized Company Grand Award” during an award ceremony Feb. 23 in Milwaukee. The companies were two of five Grand Award winners based on company size and one award for leading the way with environmentally sustainable best practices. Power Test Works to Build Success Far Beyond the Bottom Line

Sussex manufacturer of heavy equipment testing systems nominated for Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Award.

In Alan Petelinsek’s view, the image of manufacturing in the United States has taken a real hit during the last 20 years. While many larger companies have shipped off jobs to other parts of the world, a number of schools have also closed up their manufacturing training programs. Petelinsek, who owns and operates Power Test, Inc. in Sussex, intends to do whatever he can to help restore some luster to that tarnished image. “My vision is beyond the business itself,” said Petelinsek. “I would encourage people to enter manufacturing careers.
