Sussex to Talk Village Park at Outdoor Concert Thursday

This is your last chance to share your thoughts on the major redesign of Sussex Village Park, as well as the last Sounds of Sussex event this summer.

The final Sounds of Sussex event at the park behind Village Hall is slated for Thursday from 6-8 p.m., and just like during National Night Out, Sussex officials will be addressing comments on the Village Park project. During National Night Out, the Village Administrator, along with members of the Village Board, set up stands with multiple artist renderings of the park’s projected design. Residents were told to ask questions and fill out comment cards to direct the Parks and Recreation staff toward potential changes. Multi-Million Dollar Sussex Park Project Up for Discussion

Two open houses have been scheduled for residents to comment and ask questions about the multi-million dollar Village Park reconstruction project.

Smith National estimated the project would cost $11 million during the preliminary planning stages for the park in September, but Sussex officials said it’s likely that number could change. The …

Public Hearing on Downtown Plan Set for July 26

It's your turn come out and give input on design of the Main Street area.

Sussex residents are invited to come out and provide their input to the downtown development plan at a public hearing being held at 7 p.m. July 26 at Village Hall, N64W23760 Main St. The plan, which has been in the works for months, entails the scope and size of planned redevelopment of the downtown area on Main Street, stretching from Waukesha Avenue to the area between Sliver Spring Drive and Maple Avenue. The plan is meant to shape the downtown area for generations and help spur development in the area, such as the proposed Cannery Crossings project, otherwise known as Mammoth Springs. In conjuction with the downtown plan, village leaders are also exploring the implementation of a tax incremental financing district in the downtown area …
