You voted and Patch listened. George Webb Restaurant is named the best place to snag breakfast in Sussex.
After a hot debate between M&M Restaurant and George Webb Restaurant, the poll results are in, and the people picked Webb's. Snagging 62 percent of the astounding 241 votes, George Webb's stole the show, getting almost double the amount of votes as top competitor M&M. However, the results made a few Patch readers a bit confused. "I have a feeling the people voting for George Webb's have never eaten at M&M, it is literally a homemade meal," wrote Kristi in the comments. "Don't get me wrong, George Webb's is great at 2.30 am - For a good wholesome breakfast - M&M is where it's at!! :)" "WHAT??? George Webb is winning?" added Sussex food blogger Sofia Reino. "Wow...I am with Kristi, people must not have gone to M&M." But with some commenters…

A portion of a new $300,000 grant will be used to reroute the creek because the parking lot it runs beneath is crumbling.

The creek flows south through a 470-foot-long pipe beneath M&M Restaurant's parking lot, emptying on the south end of Main Street. The cost of repairing the pipe was previously estimated between $154,000 - $241,000 in July, and that's without the cost of road construction. Village Administrator Jeremy Smith said the DNR grant is a matching fund, meaning taxpayers will be contributing to construction costs, but the project is something that, by law, needs to be done. Breakfast and lunch specials have highlighted the friendly neighborhood dining experience at M & M Restaurant in Sussex for 50 years.
Back in 1961, there weren’t a whole lot of eating establishments to choose from in Sussex. However, a certain restaurant established 50 years ago became a popular place to gather, eat and socialize in town. Today, the M & M Restaurant maintains that same inviting atmosphere at the same location on Main Street near Highway 74. “For many years, we were one of the few restaurants in town so it was the gathering spot for a lot of the guys in the morning,” said Didier Babits, M & M’s current owner. “We’re strictly breakfast and lunch and are probably known more for breakfast than anything else.” Babits’ parents, Steve and Nicole, purchased the business 33 years ago and he’s been involved in the business off and on for more than 20. M & M offers…

I've lived in Sussex for over 20 years.....M&M has always been the place to go. Webbs is always a mainstay anywhere they are located and their food is great too, but anyone who has lived in the Sussex area forever, who doesn't own their own restaurant, will tell you that M&M is place to be.   more ›
