The BloodCenter of Wisconsin is hosting a blood drive at the Sussex Fire Department on Saturday. Save a life and sign up.
The Sussex Fire Department on Main Street in the heart of the village is playing host to a very important cause on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. The BloodCenter of Wisconsin is setting up shop at the local fire department so Sussex-area residents can make a life-saving donation. According to the BloodCenter's website, nearly 800 donors are needed every day to maintain the demand from hospitals the center supplies. And with summer being one of the lulls in donations, the BloodCenter is ramping up opportunities for residents to help. If you're interested in donating blood on Saturday morning, make an appointment on the BloodCenter's website, or call Greg Zoellick at (262) 246-5220 and he will assist you.

In an effort to boost slumping summer blood donations, BloodCenter of Wisconsin is offering Wisconsin State Fair tickets to blood donors through August 11. Donors will receive a free state fair ticket by giving blood at one of BloodCenter’s local donor centers: Donors are asked to mention “summer” when making their appointment by calling 1-877-BE-A-HERO or (414) 937-6199, or by entering “summer” into the comment box on the confirmation page during online registration. BloodCenter’s "Give Blood, Go Free" promotion is an effort to increase blood donations during busy summer months when donations dip because of summer travel and fewer school and community drives. BloodCenter must see at least 800 donors each day in order to meet the needs …

Blood Center of Wisconsin and American Red Cross send out pleas to area residents to help with blood donations this summer.
Are you a fan of Culver’s food or are you looking for free tickets to the Waukesha County Fair? Maybe you just want to help out the community by donating blood, but you could score free stuff with a blood donation. Both the Blood Center of Wisconsin and the American Red Cross are pushing for area residents to donate blood this summer. They are each giving away free stuff for blood. “Every day, the Red Cross must collect more than 17,000 pints of blood for patients at more than 3,000 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country. Of that, the Badger-Hawkeye Blood Services Region must collect approximately 600 pints per day,” said Greg Novinska, CEO of the American Red Cross Badger-Hawkeye Blood Services Region, serving Wisconsin, …

The BloodCenter of Wisconsin is thanking donors in June by handing out free Summerfest tickets in exchange for blood at one of the nine area locations.
Rock out to your favorite Summerfest performances for free this year when you give blood at an area BloodCenter of Wisconsin donation center. The campaign is called “Give Blood, Go Free,” and it’s an effort to boost blood donations during the slow summer months. BloodCenter says between summer vacations and the decrease in school and community drives, it could use the extra donors. “Blood donations through BloodCenter of Wisconsin are a priceless gift that can help save the lives of children and adults who are seriously injured, undergoing surgery or being treated for cancer and other illnesses,” the organization said in a memo. “As a small ‘thank you’ to those generous donors, BloodCenter is offering a free ticket to Summerfest, which can…

Well, you could try the same tactic many try with retailers when something goes on sale a week after they bought it. I'm not sure that goes to the spirit of donating blood, but it if bothers you enough....   more ›
