Daniel Koepke of Sussex pleaded not guilty Friday to a charge of second-degree sexual assault of a child. Koepke, 18, is already spending 22 months in prison for a sexual assault conviction involving a 6-year-old girl in Washington County. In the latest case, Koepke is accused of inappropriately touching a friend’s sister between June 2010 and March 2011 when she was 12 or 13, according to a criminal complaint. Koepke was bound over for trial though a date was not set. His next scheduled appearance is a hearing on April 22.

A Sussex teenager accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl will have a preliminary hearing at 8:15 a.m. March 22 in Waukesha County Circuit Court. Daniel S. Koepke, 18, is spending 22 months in prison for a sexual assault conviction involving a 6-year-old girl in Washington County. He was also charged Feb. 14 in Waukesha County Circuit Court with sexually assaulting a friend’s sister while he was a minor. Charges were modified Thursday from a Class B felony to a Class C felony. He faces up to 25 years in prison and $100,000 in fines if convicted of sexual assault of a child under age 16. A Sussex teen already convicted of sexually assaulting a minor faces an additional sexual assault charge stemming from an incident when he was 15 or 16 years old. Daniel S. Koepke, 18, was charged Thursday with first-degree sexual assault of a child. If convicted, he faces up to 40 years in prison. Koepke is accused of inappropriately touching a friend’s sister between June 2010 and March 2011 when she was 12 or 13, according to a criminal complaint. The incident was reported to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department in Nov. 8 – just two days after his sexual assault charges were made public in Sussex. The Sussex teenager who pleaded guilty to two felonies stemming from a sexual assault of a six-year-old girl was sentenced on Jan. 24 to 22 months in prison with an additional five years of extended supervision. Daniel Koepke, 18, Koepke was found guilty of one count of causing a child under 13 to view or listen to sexual activity and one count of incest in November in Washington County Circuit Court. Even though the presentence report recommended no jail time, the judge sentenced Koepke to confinement for "the remainder of his teen years," reported the Sussex Sun.
