District Saves A Cool $1.3 Million By Conserving Energy
Savings is over the last decade with the district saving $243,200 during the 2011.
The Hamilton School District has saved more than $1.3 million during the last decade as a result of energy conservation measures taken throughout the district, according to school officials. Building and grounds manager Jeff Grove told the school board on Tuesday that in 2011 alone the district will save $243,200, a figure based on dollars that would have been spent on energy if the district had not taken conservation measures. According to the school's web site, the conservation measures include: The district has been taking advantage of Focus on Energy rebates and a project save consultant who helps analyze energy use.
