UPDATE: Early Morning House Fire Causes $240,000 in Damage

More than 34 firefighters from four departments respond to blaze; cause unknown.

Editor's Note: This story was updated with new information at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7. An early morning fire Wednesday caused about $240,000 in damage to a single-family, two-story home in the W24000 block of Clover Drive. Nobody was injured during the fire, which started at about 2:45 a.m. The cause still remains under investigation but there seems to be absolutely no reason to believe it was arson, said Sussex Fire Chief Colin "Corky" Curtis. The cause of the fire is currently classified as undetermined. According to Curtis: The family woke up in the middle of the night, heard some noise and thought it was raining outside. House is torn down now. If you think it through, you'll realize there is probably no problem with the insurance. They are building a house from scratch. You can't just rebuild an existing house exactly as it was...you probably don't want to. Finding a builder, making all the plans, having them ready to start.
