Man Accused of Stealing Checks From His Dad

Police say the suspect admits to the theft, saying he needed money for gas and synthetic marijuana.

A 19-year-old Sussex man is accused of stealing checks from his father, then cashing them to buy gas and synthetic marijuana. Joshua R. Kueffler was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with four counts of identity theft and one count of theft. If convicted, he faces up to nearly 13 years in prison and $50,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: Pewaukee police officers were called to a home in the 1300 block of Hillwood Boulevard after a man living there discovered several checks had been taken from his home and cashed in December for a total loss of $635. Sussex Man Accused of Stealing a Check From His Brother

Suspect admits taking a check, then cashing it at a Waukesha bank.

A 25-year-old Sussex man is accused of stealing a check from his brother, then cashing it at a Waukesha bank. Joshua E. Fazekas was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of uttering a forgery and one count of forgery. If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison and $20,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On July 11, Fazekas’ brother contacted the Waukesha Police Department to report his brother had stolen a check from him and cashed it for $220 at Associated Bank, 100 E. Sunset Drive. The victim said Fazekas is a Percocet addict and it wasn’t the first time he stole from him. Fazekas admitted to the theft when questioned by police. He’s currently being held in Waukesha County Jail on $500 …
